Large LED electronic SIGN, Screen, Display
Electronic LED (LIGHT EMITTING
DIODE) screens / signs / displays have become especially popular in South-Eastern
Asia (Korea, China, Indonesia, Japan) after the appearance of bright dark-blue
LED lamps several years ago. This made it possible to create full color LED
systems.

LED electronic screens provide the greatest resolution for the area unit. LED
(basically manufactured in Japan, Korea and Taiwan) in comparison with lamps
consume considerably less power and are highly reliable (over 50000 hours of
continuous work). But the prices for Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hungarian, Bulgarian
& American production are 14 000-30 000 $ for a square meter.

Various companies offer different composition of LED pixel (from 4 to 12 LED lamps), different size and design of modules. While some technical details are of no interest to advertisers, technicians and maintenance personnel would much appreciate simpler systems. Moreover, simplicity universally translates as reliability.

In recent years brightness (=intensity) of LED screens has significantly increased. Many systems are now manufactured on superbright LED lamps. However, even those are frequently unable to operate in brigh daylight conditions. For example, most LED screens maintain brightness of appr. 6000 candles per square meter. As a result, quite a few screen operators are forced to switch them on only during evening and night time.

LED screens consume nearly four times less electricity than lamp screens of similar size.
An important parameter is field of view. The wider the angle, the smaller is the brightness. Therefore, one must choose pragmatically between wide-angle screens of 120 degrees or more bright 100 degree screens. Generally, it can be said that the 10 degree difference on each side makes little or no difference from the point of view of additional audience. At wide angles advertising is not effective.
Besides, if you need a mobile
system with the screen of the average size (up to 4 m in height, 6 m in length)
for outdoor use with small power consumption, LED screen is your only option.

CRT screens produced by Sony or Panasonic have very high quality, they have proved their reliability working on many high-profile stadiums throughout the world.
However, their astronomically high prices are only affordable to a handful of customers.
